Tyler Amundson lives with Sotos syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects his growth and development.
At 15, Tyler Amundson of West Fargo has faced more challenges than some people do in a lifetime.
Born with Sotos syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects growth and development, he has relied on Sanford Children’s for treatment his entire life.
In addition to four major surgeries, Tyler has spent countless hours in doctor appointments and weekly physical, speech and occupational therapy sessions, making Sanford Children’s like a second home. It’s a place where he feels comfortable and special.
“Tyler’s entire life has revolved around his condition,” said his mom, Maria Peralta. "It’s hard watching your child struggle with simple things like reading or writing, and wondering about a future that is so uncertain, but he’s never questioned it and always keeps a positive attitude."
Every year, Tyler continues to grow stronger, more confident and better able to communicate. This life-changing progress wouldn’t be possible without his hard work and generous donors to Children’s Miracle Network at Sanford Children’s Fargo. Their support helps ensure Tyler has access to the care he needs, close to home.
By supporting GABR, you help kids like Tyler reach for the stars. As always, 100% of your gift will stay local to care for children who count on Sanford Children’s for health and healing.
