PETAL (Parents Embracing Time After Loss) Program

If you or someone you care about has lost a child in pregnancy or infancy, please join us in raising awareness and supporting the PETAL program this October.

A month to remember

benefiting the Parents Embracing Time After Loss (PETAL) program

October 1-30, 2021

Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, east entrance

Throughout October, we invite you to place a rose petal or ribbon on the memorial trees located on the medical center’s campus in remembrance of a child lost in early pregnancy, stillbirth, newborn death or SIDS.

There will be ribbons on the trees to help you locate the exact area. There are also engraved rocks should you want to place your memory item by a specific tree.

Together, we’ll transform these trees into a beautiful remembrance of the precious lives we’ve lost too soon.

Please note: To protect the health and safety of our community, the annual Walk to Remember will not be held this year.

Win a handmade quilt

A beautiful quilt handmade by a member of the PETAL program is up for raffle.

Now through October 31, you can purchase raffle tickets for $5 each at the Sanford Medical Center gift shop. The raffle will be held November 1.

All proceeds will benefit the PETAL program. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

About the PETAL program

The Parents Embracing Time After Loss (PETAL) program at Sanford Bemidji provides mementos and support information to families who have lost a child in early pregnancy, stillbirth, newborn death or SIDS.

The PETAL program is made possible by generous support through the Sanford Health Foundation.
